Event of 2004 November 9-10

 
A very fast halo coronal mass ejection (CME) occurred at 17:26 on November 9. Its speed was 2000km/s. It was accompanied by X-ray and Hα flares. The X-ray flare was located in active region NOAA 10969 (N07° W51°) and started at 16:59 UT. Its class was M8.9.

Even more powerful CME and X-ray flare were observed on November 10. The speed of the CME was 3387 km/s and the class of the flare was X2.5. The CME started at 02:26 UT and the flare at 01:59 UT. The flare occurred in the same active region than the flare on November 9.
