1999 May 3

event of 1999 May 3

On May 2 two coronal mass ejections (CME) were detected in the northern-eastern (NE) region. The first one started at 15:50 UT and the second at 19:26 UT. These eruptions are most likely source of the particle event that ERNE detected on May 3. ERNE intensities started to rise around 16 UT on May 3 and the increase was gradual. The maximum intensity was measured about 48 hours after the onset.
