event of 1998 May 6
A gradual coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed at 02:28 UT and its speed was 511 km/s. It was accompanied by Hα and M9.2-class X-ray flares. The Hα flare started at 02:25 UT.
The X2.7-class X-ray flare started at 07:58 UT and ended at 08:20 UT. The maximum X-ray flux was observed at 08:09 UT. The location of the flare was S11° W65°. There were type II radio bursts during 08:25-08:35 UT and type III radio bursts during 08:00-08:30 UT. A CME occured at 08:00 UT and the proton release time was 08:22 UT ± 3 min.
