1998 May 2 event

A solar eruption associated with X1.1/3B-class X-ray flare and a halo coronal mass ejection (CME). The flare started 13:30 UT and located S15°W15°. The halo CME started 14:06 UT.

The SEP event was observed inside the interplanetary magnetic cloud of a previous solar eruption. The onset of the around 20 MeV proton release occurred within four minutes after the radio flash and the Moreton wave start.
