Event of 1997 May 12
The first appearance time of an impulsive earthward-directed coronal mass ejection (CME) was 06:30 UT. The CME was accompanied by gradual soft X-ray flare (class: C1.3), coronal Moreton wave, coronal type II radio bursts at 04:58 UT and type IV radio bursts at 05:10 UT. Type III radio bursts were also observed. The X-ray flare reached its maximum at 04:55 UT. Hα-flare started at 04:44 UT. A small optical flare, class 1N, was recorded in AR 8028.
